Jason Bourne was always going to beat you because he was just better trained, and didn't have any pesky thoughts get in the way of becoming the weapon he was always meant to. My next statement is meant to be a "YES AND" and not a "YES BUT" addendum. I just want to say how much I love both these films, and how glad I am that we're talking about them. I liked Spectre, he pulled a Costanza and went out on a high note If Craig is retired (which 90% of me is sure he is), then his films could be argued as the first in the series (EDIT: franchise) to have fulfilled a story from beginning to end. Like Brosnan's Bond fooling around with the Thunderbolt jetpack in Die Another Day, it's just there for show. Sure, the same gadgets and cars pop up in different films, but I think those are just little homages to the past films, not so much as making the films canon and continuing the story. Bond's wife isn't mentioned after Majesty until the beginning of Your Eyes Only. I'm also assuming that the producers back in the day didn't know if they wanted to continue telling Bond's story despite actor changes. I've mentioned somewhere before that I always thought a new Bond equals a new series, save for the carried over MI6 actors. That is unless one considers the Bond series to be of multiple, individual stories that are canon only to their respective actor.
